As you may have learned by now, mindset and energy can have a huge effect on what you are able to achieve in your year.
I’d like to share 3 stories today of using mindset and energy to help you achieve your goals.
Tip #1 Prep to be Ready to Rise
I’m really enjoying Netflix’s new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which debuted this week.
The premise of the show is simple: in each episode (which takes place in the south), the Fab 5 find a guy who has been nominated by his friends / family to get a life makeover.
Each of the Fab 5 has a specialty mission: food, fashion, design, culture, and grooming. They help the star of the episode upgrade his life over the course of a few days or a week.
What’s struck me in watching the first couple of these episodes is how taking care of the aspects of the life is never JUST about looking good, taking better care of self and home, or having a better time.
It’s about friendship. Connection. Opportunity.
The Fab 5 helps the guys makeover not just the outward appearance of their life but also the inner mindset. They want the guys to be more confident, to open up to vulnerability and to ask for what they want in life.
When a guy dresses nicely and has a good haircut that suits him and a nice environment, he’s more comfortable inviting people over, which in turn opens the door to greater relationships.
Sometimes in spiritual-minded communities, there can be a tendency to look away from the physical, I’ve noticed. I’ve heard many people dismiss the outward appearance as “shallow” or set it aside in pursuit of bigger goals, like putting in more time at work, or giving more time and energy to other people rather than tending to their own needs.
Here’s a secret: your physical anchors in and grounds your spiritual life.
I grew up in a tradition that valued fasting and sacrifice.
As an adult, I’ve pursued advanced studies of spirit and energy, with a strong emphasis on cultivating well-being and filling the well in my personal practice. I’ve found the development of well being invites greater inner contentment and can pave the way for greater outer success. Robust well-being can be not only spiritual for us as individuals, but also pave the way to let us help a lot more people than we’d be able to otherwise.
Deep tending of your physical world is one of the greatest kindnesses you can give to yourself and other people.
Take care of yourself and your surroundings. It can help set you up for success, and support your mindset.
Tip #2: Rest is Just as Important as Activity
At YogaWorks in Valencia, many different styles of classes are offered: the aerobic TRX classes, the movement-focused Vinyassa flow classes, and the restful, slow-moving restorative classes.
My personal favorite yoga classes to take are currently the Yin classes and the Urban Zen class.
Dani, the teacher of the Urban Zen in Valencia, has a devoted following that crowds into the largest yoga studio of the facility every Friday at noon. Urban Zen includes restorative yoga poses, aromatherapy, and reiki.
It’s interesting to note that on days when she is absent and there is a sub, the crowd dwindles, giving the appearance that Dani herself is the energetic draw that calls people in.
The Yin classes are taught by Jen, and feature long, deep poses held for several minutes.
The purpose of these classes are to help the participants relax.
So much of our day and our lives can be consumed by “busy” and “activity” and “progress.”
Really, though, rest is necessary to us as well.
I choose to attend deeply relaxing yoga classes because their emphasis on rest helps my energy soothe, collect. I leave the room having met some inner soul need to be present with myself and simply in my body and at peace.
Having taken the time for these classes, I become more present and awake to the rest of my life.
Do not focus on the length of your to-do list or the fullness of your calendar as an ultimate measure of your well-being and success.
What are you doing to rest?
Tip #3: Align with Appropriate Support
Taking the time to care for yourself and also to rest are a strong foundation for well being and for opening to opportunities around you.
With a strong foundation, you’re ready to align your energy and your actions for success.
The key can be to own your value with confidence, align to your potential, make strong and supported goals, and move toward them.
To that end, I have another story, and a resource to share.
Last year, I was in a Facebook group which featured a long thread of people promoting their programs. As I scanned the list, one program leapt out at me and especially caught my attention.
It was “The Rich Pitch” by Marissa Loewen.
I had seen Marissa post on Facebook maybe once or twice. She had a fearlessness in stating her truth and a compassionate advocacy.
Marissa and her program really stood out to me.
So I purchased it.
The unique thing about The Rich Pitch (a program about owning your worth and building a business that sustains you and rewards you financially and emotionally) is that Marissa offers live rounds of coaching a few times throughout the year. Once you sign up, you get to join in the future coaching as well.
So I received live coaching from her in spring, fall, and winter of last year.
During the first round of coaching, she helped me with the mindset and motivation to build my first five-figure month as an entrepreneur. That was huge for me.
During the second and third rounds of coaching, she held space for a bigger vision for my business and the work I do, and helped me look at it with a keen eye to see how I could make running the business even better, how I could serve more people, and how I could start to build a stronger foundation for myself and make the work more robust.
She challenged me to take my work deeper and make it more meaningful and filled with purpose.
Marissa is a powerful coach, and I have absolutely loved working with her.
I challenge you!
This year to find support people that don’t just cheer you on or (heaven forbid) sabotage you or ask you to play small.
What will your life be like if you actively seek out the people who can nurture you and ask the powerful questions to support your growth? Strong mentors help open the path for you to get to your goals–whether that is with strategic coaching, mindset work, or introductions to people who can make a difference for your life.
Step up and own your growth. Take the driver’s seat in your own life, and head toward where you want to go.
P.S. I feel so strongly about Marissa’s program I’m going to recommend it to you here with my affiliate link (which means if buy her program via my link, I will receive a commission . . . and thus can give you a very nice bonus. Read on . . . ).
I would recommend this program for entrepreneurs who:
- identify as leaders
- want to make more money in a way that feels good
- want to enjoy their business and set it up so they do not have to work all the time
- care about themselves and their clients all thriving
- care about good boundaries and systems
- like being asked powerful questions that can lead to fresh insights and change
- already have a business established or at the very least a strong business idea of what they want to create. (I think the skills she teaches could be useful to someone in a traditional job, but that is not her principle focus.)
It will help you most if you are a motivated self-starter who is organized and will implement material. You also need to be willing to do the mindset work she offers.
My BONUS if you sign up via my affiliate link:
You will get access to my series: Divine Feminine Rising: The Journeys. Seven journeys to reclaim what was lost to our feminine aspect in the archetypal myths of patriarchal culture. A complete energy upgrade through the chakras and a powerful alignment to your own leadership.
I believe these two powerful programs together can help shift your life into amazing places this year.
Marissa can give you world-class support with owning your value and structuring your business for success and growth.
I can help you with world-class support on the energy healing and evolution side.
Both of these together amplify each other and are very powerful.
Get support from both Marissa and me when you purchase the Rich Pitch here.
P.P.S. I continue to work with the Rich Pitch as well. So if you sign up this round, I’ll be working through the program right next to you. I make it to as many of the live calls as I can and would love to celebrate your progress alongside you.
